Hosted by The Zelotones, Singapore’s very own passionate, independent band, we’re all about sharing real-life stories, spreading positivity, and championing inclusion for persons with disabilities (PWD).
Meet the crew:
🎸 Zach (bass) – Founder, groove master, and proof that losing sight doesn’t mean losing vision. From navigating blindness in young adulthood to rocking the bass like nobody’s business, Zach’s got wisdom and wicked riffs.
🥁 Alex (drums) – Started on bass, leveled up to drums, now smashing Grade 5 exams like it’s no big deal. Visually impaired since young, Alex’s independence and “why not?” attitude make him a powerhouse on and off stage.
🎤 Zyana (vocals & rhythm guitar) – Our powerhouse vocalist with a heart full of stories and a guitar that never lies. Living with tunnel vision hasn’t stopped her from crafting beautiful arrangements and lighting up any stage.
🎹 Ben (keys) – The “jukebox” pianist with Grade 8 chops, a killer smile, and a life story that redefines resilience. After two serious accidents, Ben’s motto is simple: keep playing, keep glowing.
💪 The Zelotones do it all – music, admin, PR, finances – proving that disability doesn’t define limits. We use our voices (and instruments!) to amplify PWD perspectives, spark conversations, and build a more inclusive Singapore.

Episode 3 : Alex Sulking!? Merajuk!?
Ever heard of the word “merajuk”? It’s Malay for sulking—and let’s just say our drummer Alex (aka Iskandar) wears the nickname a little too well 👀😆
With Zach on a short recovery break, Alex, Zyana & Ben take center stage to spill some tea and drop some beats. Alex opens up about life with Retinitis Pigmentosa, how he went from feeling like the odd one out in primary school to finding his rhythm (literally!) at a specialized school.
You’ll hear how he traded his bass for a drum kit, took lessons, and found his groove—contributing to the band’s “compact” chemistry. And yes, expect dry humor, sound effect surprises, and classic Alex-style interjections that keep the band (and this episode) full of laughs.
